Rolling Over & Sitting Up!

Maddie rolled over last week (this is the first time I've had to a chance to post though).  She rolled from her back to her belly and did it both ways... right and left!  Christy had Hailey over and I really think that Maddie was just trying to get away from Hailey!  LOL!!  But she has done it only a few times since then... but not much! Soooo lazy!!

She is also officially sitting up by her self now!  For the past few weeks she has been doing it, but falling over after about 30 seconds or so and been kinda wobbly.  Well, she is now doing it like a champ!  I left her in her play yard today for almost 30 minutes today and she just played and played- she would start to lean a little to one side but then correct herself and get straight back up!!!   Yay!  I feel like she is such a big girl now!

We have also changed her carseat out to her bigger one.  She still fits in her infant carseat (barely!) but it was getting waaaaaaay too heavy to carry around.  So, she is now in her toddler seat... which means she has been sitting in highchairs and in the front of shopping carts!  So far, so good!
I swear she is the nosiest baby... so she is really enjoying sitting in a highchair and looking people.  Mary & I took her to lunch this past weekend and she was just STARING at the people next to us!  Weirdo!
I think riding in the shopping cart makes her feel like a big girl too because she just smiles at everyone and gets so excited! :o)

Her 6 month appointment is on Monday, and I can't wait to see how much she has grown!  Matt & I are going to Busch Gardens on Sunday with some friends so Maddie will be at Grammy's house Sunday and Monday.  It will be nice to get out of the house and have some adult interaction!  That's sad!!  I really should get out more!

What a *FUN* weekend!!!!

But first... Mommy has taught Maddie to give *KISSES*
They are really, really slobbery - but soooo sweet!
Here she is sharing some kisses with Mommy & Grandma - Yep... they are ALL open mouthed!

Bella tried to show her how to really do it! :o)

While Maddie stayed with Grandma & Grandaddy for the day, Mommy & Daddy got to spend some time together doing a few fun things.  First, we went to the Virginia Safari Park.  It is a 180 acre zoo that you drive through and feed animals from your windows.  It was so neat that we plan on going back as soon as possible!

Lots of llamas!!  They are so determined to get food that they stand in your way and won't let you pass!!

Here is one of the gorgeous giraffes... They have deck that you can feed them from so that you are at their height... we tried to do it but they had no interest in coming over to us!  I was sooo disappointed!

I was excited to feed the camels... and then the biggest one STOLE MY BUCKET!!

There he is with my whole bucket in it's mouth!!

Some other kind of deer... maybe??

And ZEEEEEEEEEBRAS.... I couldn't believe how close we were to them!  Sooooo Purdy!!

Not sure how well you can see this... but it is a Rocky Mountain Elk... he was HUGE with an even HUGER rack of horns... luckily he was in the wooded part because I didn't wanna see him up close!

 Getting close....

Getting even clooooooser...

YIKES!  These are apparently called Watsui.... Um.... mighty big horns you have there!

I took a picture of another truck going through it because I wanted to show what it is like with all of these animals circling your vehicle!

 We are DORKS!

So... then we went over to the zoo part where they have all kinds of other animals... there was a little piglet that was just roaming around and I fell in love!! I named him Squirt!

He really wanted to come home with me... but Matt disagreed!

No... you don't get to feed these!!! LOL!

Going through the Kangaroo Walk-About... they were all sun bathing and didn't want a thing to do with us!

He hates it when I make him pose for pictures!

more llama lovin'....

After our morning at the safari park... we then moved onto Staunton to go to The American Frontier Culture Museum..... not as exciting as all of the animals, but still fun!

Caught Matt coming outta the porta-potty!! HAHAHA!!

It was a great day!  Here are some other pictures of our visit!

Hangin' out with Uncle Bubby!

Getting some time with Grandaddy!

Starting to look more like her Momma.. Yay!

Guess she got a little thirsty on the trip home! ;o)

Just something too cute not to post...

Last night Maddie took her paci out and tried to hand it to Bella! She has been taking it out and putting it back in her own mouth, but this is the first time she has tried to share it with anyone - and it was her best friend Bella!

I just thought it was tooooooo freaking cute!

Still needs a little help from the boppy though....

Maddie is 5 months old today!!  The time is flying by....

She is starting to get really grabby - trying to take everything out of your hands... the phone... the remote... food.... anything!

She is doing really well with the solid food.  Her schedule is fruit in the morning (1/2 jar)... and then a veggie for dinner (1/2 jar) along with a little bit of rice cereal mixed with formula in a bowl.  We haven't found anything she doesn't like yet, which is GREAT!

She still has not mastered rolling over.  I think she is just lazy because she gets about 3/4 of the way and then gives up!  I don't know how long it will take for her to fully roll over, she is always content on her back or on her belly, so she isn't motivated by not liking laying a certain way.

She is still sleeping in her crib and sleeping through the night.  We have had a few bad nights in the past week, not sure what that's about, but hopefully it isn't going to continue.
She usually goes to bed between 8-9 and wakes up around 7-8.

She is the love of our lives... apple of our eye... you get the drift!  I really can't imagine what my life would be like without her!
