Today Maddie had her 2 month appointment....
Weight: 13 lbs 12 ounces
Height: 23 1/2 inches
Head Circumference: 40 cm
Everything checked out fine. She is growing great and is doing all of the things she is supposed to be doing... following lights with her eyes, holding her head up and responding to Mommy's voice. She did get a bunch of vaccinations... two shots and one orally! I felt really bad for her but she was a very good girl. There was a few moments of uncontrollable crying but after she was comforted by Daddy she was all better!
We have been home for a few hours now and she has been a little fussy so I guessing her little legs are a sore from the shots... poor baby!
The only thing we have to keep an eye on is her head shape. She seems to favor laying on her right side so the pediatrician suggested trying to get her to lay on her left side more. I have noticed that she always sleeps with her head to the right, but I didn't realize that it could totally change the shape of her head! It isn't a big deal... we are just going to try to put something that she likes to look at on the other side for awhile and then eventually switch it back and forth. I was thinking about getting her one of those crib aquariums that playing music and have fish swimming around anyway, so I will just have to make a mental note to change it from side to side occasionally. If she still won't lay on her left, the pediatrician recommended a sleep wedge which would sort of force Maddie to stay on that side.
Her next appointment isn't until she is 4 months old and at that appointment we get to talk about starting solid foods! Yay! I can't wait to see that cute little face all messy with baby food!!!!!
