First trip to Grandma & Grandaddy's House!

Since posting last, Maddie and I made our first visit home to Grandma and Grandaddy's house!!!

My sister Kristin and her two boys (Logan & Jacob) made the trip from St. Louis for a few weeks, and thanks to David, we were able to go up and let all of the babies meet each other for the first time! Grandaddy came to our house Tuesday night after work and then we headed out Wednesday morning with only about a million suitcases! I can't believe how much stuff I had to pack for only a few days. It was overwhelming! Unfortunately, the only thing I forgot was my CAMERA! Geeeeez!!! - needless to say I don't have any pictures of the visit so I will have to wait until Kristin and Mom send me some before I can post any.

We had such a great time! The only other bummer was that I never realized how much Maddie loves her swing. She really missed it while we were gone and wasn't very content in just her bouncy seat... the girl likes to swing.. what can I say? :o) It took us pretty much the whole trip to realize that she was happiest laying on the floor in front of the tv. Which reminds me... Maddie's newest hobby is watching tv.... she LOVES it! I am enjoying that she isn't particular about what she actually watches because before we know it she is going to want to only watch cartoons and I'm not ready for that yet! For now she is watching all of Mommy's favorite shows!

Maddie was a trooper in the car... we only stopped once on both trips to let her eat and get a diaper change. She liked getting out of her carseat for a few minutes and being walked around but the stops were probably only about 20-30 minutes total. Not too bad!!

I'm glad that we got to visit with her little cousins, even though none of them really paid too much attention to one another. Logan is a busy little walker... he is FAST and in EVERYTHING! It made me look forward to when Maddie will be on the move too! Baby Jacob is a sweet little thing... but I didn't get to see him too much because he is still in his 'sleeping' phase. It was funny to see the difference between his activity level and Maddie's right now. She is only 4 weeks older than him so it is hard to believe that he will be so much more alert and quizative in just a few short weeks! I know Kristin is going to have her hands full for sure!!!

Even though the trip was great, it was also nice to come home. We really missed Matt and I think he might have missed us too. I'm sure the house felt pretty lonely without us here!

Here are the pictures (thanks Kristin for letting me steal them!):
