Gotta try to do this more!

I am going to try to turn over a new leaf and do this blog thingy a lot more.

Maddie is growing like crazy and I haven't documented ANY of it!! Oooops!!
I still haven't done anything to her baby book since she was born and I know I will regret it later on, so I am really going to try to stay dedicated to this. I'm also going to try to blog about other things too... not making it all Maddie... but just about our lives in general.

So.... things that are new...

Matt still works CONSTANTLY! I understand his theory... he is trying to work hard now so that he can relax a little more later... I get it! I really do... but it doesn't make it any easier. I feel for him because he isn't around as much as he would like to be. I just sometimes wish that his work ended when he walked in the door. Instead, he eats dinner and then heads straight upstairs to do MORE work. I am very appreciative of the life that he has given both Maddie and I. I always wanted to be a stay-at-home mommy and it is only possible because of Matt's hard work. I am just sick of him missing out on things...

So.... because of this.... I have taken it upon myself to start my own business and try to somewhat help by making a little income... hopefully!

We bought a plotter a couple of months ago... aka a vinyl cutter. It was a great deal on craigslist and we couldn't pass it up! So I am slowly (but surely) building a small business doing wall sayings out of removeable vinyl.

I have finally decided on a name... Alphabet Soup Decor! I also have a compelete concept in my head... now it is just a matter of juggling my time between Maddie... housework... cooking... laundry...and being a business woman! Yay!

I have already had a few orders (from my mom :o) haha!) but it counts for something. It is also such a warm fuzzy feeling to be able to be creative. I love to be able to get those creative juices rolling and I have always loved design.... so this is PERFECT!

I found out about an open-air market from one of my neighbors. It is located in Elizabeth City... so only about 15 minutes from me. You pay a small fee and they set up your tent for you. My friend Christy and I went down there to check it out and it is definitely small... but seems like a good opportunity to get some customers. It is every Saturday from 9am - 1pm... so it really couldn't be better. Mary has already offered to keep the baby since she is off on the weekends, which really means that I have no excuses! I just need to buck up, get some designs completed and cut then take them down there and sell 'em!

Once Matt has a few free minutes (if he ever does...) he is going to help me with my website... I already know what it looks like on paper... now is just the hard part of translating it to the web. Anyways... it is http://www.alphabetsoupdecor.com/

If you check it out you will see my logo idea... and that's about it! ;o)

There will be lots more coming soon... promise!

Now... moving on to Maddie...

She is growing leaps and bounds... I can't even believe how big she has gotten!

She is starting to sit up with little help from us and is starting to reach out for things that she wants... She is also starting to do what we have started calling 'the inchworm'

She scoots her whole body using only her leg muscles. She looks just like a little inchworm! She also uses the same technique to climb 'Mount Mommy' (hehe!)... She starts out on my lap and ends up going up my chest and past my head to the top of the couch! Matt and I let her do it across the bed a few nights ago and she was thrilled!

We are also getting into somewhat of a morning routine. She gets up... gets changed... and eats her bottle... she then watches Noggin for about an hour or so... and then goes right back to sleep for about 45 mins to an hour! This is when mommy gets to do dishes... throw in some laundry... take a shower...etc. Pretty awesome!!

She looooves the Noggin channel... and actually smiles and laughs like she knows what they are saying (even though I'm sure she doesn't). I am guessing that it is all the bright colors that attracts her to it.... although she pretty much likes tv in general! She especially likes to watch the big flat screen with Paw-Paw at his house. There is nothing cuter than seeing them snuggled up in his recliner watching a Nascar race... hahahaha!

I mixed rice cereal in with Maddie's bottle last night for the first time. She is such a good sleeper and has slept through the night now for a looooong time... but I have found that she wants to eat so much before bedtime (I am guessing to gear herself up for a long night's sleep) that she gives herself a tummy ache and seems to spit up a bit. So I mixed 2 tablespoons into a 6 ounce bottle last night to see what would happen.... she ate 2 ounces of it and was KNOCKED OUT! I mean... the baby slept for 11 hours!! Not kidding!!!!!

Ok... so I started this post forever ago (almost a MONTH ago!) and never finished it.... guess I didn't do too good of a job at keeping up with my blogging!
