Ni Hao Maddie!

Maddie's most favorite show is called Ni Hao Kai-Lan!!

It comes on Noggin a few times a day and Maddie will stop whatever she is doing to watch it!

Here is a description of the show:
Ni hao!" That means "hi" in Chinese--and that's how Kai-lan greets you every day! Kai-lan Chow is an exuberant Chinese-American preschooler, almost 6, who wants you to come play with her and her best friends. Kai-lan's world is infused with Chinese culture and is brimming with magical sights and sounds, and everywhere you turn there's something amazing and beautiful to see. Along the way, she and her bilingual buddies speak in English and Chinese, but they always need kids' help to find creative solutions to the daily dilemmas that come their way!

I don't know what it is about this show (although it does have VERY bright colors) that attracts her to it. She also has a few other favorites... Pinky Dinky Doo, Yo Gabba Gabba and The Backyardigans....

I recorded an hour long special episode of Kai-Lan the other day so that I can leave it on the DVR and then she can watch it whenever. She is actually watching it now so that I can write this!

Maddie will be 4 months old on Friday and her doctor's appointment is scheduled for August 26th. I went ahead and started her on solids before her appointment because I am very sure that she is ready. The poor thing stares at our food and even tries to grab it off of our plates! She started with rice cereal mixed with formula, but didn't seem to like it at all! So, I then tried pears (which she semi-liked). So far she has had pears, sweet potatoes, and applesauce. The applesauce is by far her favorite - she didn't spit out a drop of it and actually licked her lips just in case she missed any!! haha!

I have pictures to post of her messy face but we have been moving furniture upstairs so the camera dock isn't hooked up at the moment, so I can't get them off of my camera.

Forgot to mention that there is a new blog posted in July as well. I had written it a month ago, but had just never posted it! Oops!
